OUR FOUNDER
Our very own President and Founder of Vera’s Open Arms, V.O.A., Kimberly Haynesworth has witnessed Domestic Violence in her parents home as a child.
While the impact endured was on her mother, Vera Lee (Waterford) Haynesworth, many fail to realize that children are also affected by experiencing such trauma in the home.
At the age of 18, she later found that her mother lost her life at her father's doing. This took a heavy toll on her and her brother.
But with prayer, purpose and persistence, Kim chose to create this shelter to do her part in eradicating domestic violence and lifting up other victorious women and their children.
